Three and Four Liners from MaAlvarez

One of my interests is poetry. I sometimes go with my nom-de-plume of MaAlvarez. From a compilation of poems, "Thoughts & Reminiscenses," I hereby offer to my friends at the Forum the following:

Butterfly

He who flutters between roses and thorns,
Sauntering their dewy fragrance anew,
Thirsting, he suckles the nectar-laden buds,
And flees in haste to watch the rainbow rise.

Bark

Cast off from a mighty oak tree,
It falls on the mossy trail.
Foreever...to be part of the soil,
Enriching earth and life beneath.

Flower

Oh! That silent breeze of dawn,
Sweeping off thy gentle face,
The soft tress and dainty looks...,
And a flower nestled in thy hands.

Sun with Flower

The rosebud sprouts with gaeity and awe.
Glowing radiantly, she basks in splendor.
And withers away underneath the searing sky.

Seashell

What ancient secrets thoust keep?
Within your shining armor, you amass.
The tempest's fury and the roaming waves,
Forever esconced, please release them not.

Feathers

Floating feathers in a willowy glen,
Running riot...away from the pen,
Touching blades of grass again and again,
Never settling, always moving with a spin.

Leaf

The leaf falling from a bough,
Like a babe slipping from a mother's hold,
It falls on earth with an impish cry,
While Mother Nature roared in pain.

Dried Rose

Alas! The rose sere.
Never to bloom again,
Yet, her scent lingers on,
Soothing frayed souls.

Dried Daisy

From whence did you come?
Oh! Petrified stem of youth,
With abandon, they plucked you.
Only to wither under the burning sun.

Sand

The tempestuous sea rolls you over,
And spread far promontories' end,
Those ancient tales of mariners' folly,
Inter them 'til eternity.

Bicol Haiku

Jorge O. Macenas's picture

Eloquently expressed Haikus ! ! Very well done.

Could you please post Haikus in Bicol. That will surely alllure the hearts of our fellow Catandunganons.

Mabalos Jun.

Dear Jorge:

With all due respect, I can only comply. Here are some
of those:

Ang Sarog sa Parang

Napungaw ang marhay na Dios,
Dahil sa kasalanan ning kinaban,
Nagparahibi ning dakulang sarog.

Maya

Maray nang panahon,
Bago nagabot ang maya,
Mara na kita. Tagbuon nato.

Estranghero

Sino ka man ginoo?
Kasubangi ka pa sana nagabot.
Mahari ka na daa kaiba ang mga aki.

Tickling Ripples

Dave's picture

I like the ripples of your thoughts. They tickle out visions of the time past! Go on, Jun.
