Puraran Beach

Puraran Beach, Catanduanes

As far as I know, Puraran has apparently received the name “Majestic” from appreciative local and international tourists. The beach is white and seen from afar the panoramic view is simply superb. It is a public beach just like the other beaches in the province located just an hour and a half from Virac, the capital of the Catanduanes.

Thanks heaps Milms for posting this.

Puraran beach is known dubbed Majestic because of the waves described by foreign visitors as "majestic".

When i was growing up, there were already a steady growth of Australian visitors and one of them told me they want to keep the "hidden" and tell only their close friends about the surfing paradise of Catanduanes.

But beauty has its own way of seeking recognition and no sooner groups of surf enthusiasts from different countries discovered it. Now, you see foreign visitors passing by our house in Baras town on top of jeeps with their back packs and... of course, the surf boards.

The swells of Puraran is said to challenge most of the surfing destinations of the Philippines and even Asia.

One can get to Majestic Puraran by bus. One can take the bus Virac - Gigmoto from Virac and alight in Puraran. One one can opt to take the bus to Baras and hire a tricycle to Puraran for another experience.
