The Other Side of Typhoon Reming

Dave's picture

Typhoon Reming is a definite horrid event. It has deprived me of two essentials of life: light and water.

But did Reming punish me? Now... I am abivalent on the veracity of my quick ready answer "yes" to the question.

During those 2 months i learned how beautiful night is without the manmade electricity. I lived my childhood days again... realizing how bright the moon is and what a pity we have preferred to exchange its enchanting, amoric, mysterious wan light to a "bulb"! Pity.

I realized, the darknights can engulf one's being in a way no human words can explain. Sitting under the stars on a dark, moonless, cloudless nights is magical! Very much like a stage light fading in ever so slowly i soon realize the dark night is bright! I can see all things clearly... but in a different light. I have never seen my wife's face as beautiful and radiantly lovely under the darkness of the night.

and... the magic of the black night is not limited to sight... human touch has never been so eloquent in the bright lucidity of a dark night... No wonder, lovers have been enchanted by it since time immemorial. And they had never been so right! Not that they hide... as they express things more eloquently under the dark night... without words...

Ah the poetry of the night!
