Macutal Falls is found in Barangay Macutal in Baras Catanduanes. It is an unpretentious cascade. It is pretty with foliage still intact the way it was when i was in the elementary when we would sneak out of classes to go for a skinny dip! LOL.
Now, it is a small resort complete with a fresh running water swimming pool! Where the camera is, is the pool. A small fraction from the falls run to the pool to always provide fresh water.
This place is ideal to families. It is accessibe to all kind of transportation.
There is a regular trip to baras starting at 7:00 am then, 9:00, 11:00, 3:00, 5:00. Once you are in baras you can hail a tricycle to Macutal for P20.00. The way is a rural experience. Ricefields and forested mountains interspersed with abaca plantation.
It is around 45 to 1 hour pleasant trip to Baras and around 15 minutes baras to Macutal. Thanks Alberto for reminding me.
Admission fee is P15.00! Cheap. Cottage is 50! Cheap. Go and visit my hometown.

wow!
kuya boy,yan na ba ang falls na naalala ko from Baras? wow! kung yaan na nga kailangan ko talagang umuwi para makita ko siya uli ,the girls will love it!
WOW! Macutal Falls
Exactly Gemma. That is the falls we pass by on the way to the mountains. I know you know the place. It would be good to bring your girls here to get a bit of the places their mother has gone to in the past. Ask Joy and May to access to our site so they can see these pictures and many others I will be posting here like the Minabalay and Sula Islands, and the sleepy town of Baras.
I'm working on a write up regarding the town of Baras with pictures of course.
