Hi catanduanesforum peeps!

We are inviting everyone to post their own literary masterpieces here on the site. Since we're just starting, all original literary works will be posted on the main page of the site or will be given special links in case they are too long. Literary works may be written in english, tagalog or bicol. however, priority will be given to literary works written in the vernacular (bicol). Later on, when our literary contributions have increased, all members will judge these literary masterpieces according to creativity, grammar, and subject matter through a vote. Those that will merit high literary marks from members will be judged as the literary masterpiece of the month which will appear on the main page of the site complete with a short description of the writer.

the criteria will be posted on the site soon. if you have questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to reply to this post.

thanks!

To a Desert Bloom

Dear Cai:

It's been awhile since I wrote the forum. And here's what I have for consideration.

To a Desert Bloom

And she was there waiting to be taken.
Not in the sense that she wanted to,
But more of the belief that someone,
From somewhere would notice her.
She smoothed her flowing tress.
The locks of hair had been tossed.
On or about her slender shoulders,
The gentle breeze brought them back.
In wild abandon, it settled down.

One then would ask.
How could such a ravishing beauty remain
Unnoticed, untouched or virtually lost in this vastness?
She wore the best perfume.
The purveyors of scent from the east knew better;
That for a woman of depth like she was,
The alternative to being supreme is none.

The sun feasted on her.
And why not? Should one dare ask.
Erato could have put it best;
Sine qua non her quiet arrogance;
Would the Muse have uttered words of praise?
Yet she indulged and embellished her to no end!

This woman...,
Do I know her from Eve?
She, who has yet to know;
That the world desires her;
In her state of being, she feigns not;
Of the void within her heart's chamber;
Not of the surreal but of carnal thoughts;
She is one in full bloom amidst the desert air.
