Catanduanes Forum

This majestic lonely lighthouse stands proud on the southern most tip of the island of Panay in Bagamanoc. Where it stands is most proximate to the municipality of Panganiban. The expanse of sea that separates it from Panganiban is a treacherous one, a characteristic of narrow straights.

There is a barangay where this light house is: the name eludes me now. There is also a small school in the area. Most of the teachers teaching in this portion of Panay are from Panganiban.

One day several teachers drown crossing this narrow straight. Their only crime committed for drowning was their zest for service. And the only witness to their heroism was this lonely lighthouse of Panay.
