Joey Velasco's Painting: A spiritual Journey

Dave's picture

A dear friend sent this to me in my mail. I want to share it to our growing family. There are some questions here that touch the core of humanity.

May I share my new paintings to all of you my friends, and the unveiling of my new Hapag ng Pag-ibig in UP last month in celebration of the filipino spirit. I felt so honored that the mt everest (women team) was there to witness it.

"Suddenly, I found myself looking at a painting which looked at me through windows provided by a mere canvas. It observed me anywhere I go. The subject reaches out to me in a profound way. It is Christ wanting me to see myself the way he sees me, inviting me to look at my life the way he looks at it. Sometimes it takes just closing my eyes and taking a deep breath amidst all that surround me...not thinking anymore...not even feeling...but simply being aware of His presence in my canvas in my brush and palette and everywhere. Thy will be done. Everything feels alright. The paintbrush just moves by itself... flowing with the flow in total surrender. The Divine Master does the strokes and the Spirit leads. Now I understand why God has gifted me with the passion for painting. At this moment in my life, when I need it most, my painting has become my prayer."

the biggest problem why children wander off the streets is irreponsibility. Irresponsibility on the part of parents and those who works in government who didnt know how to paint and reflect.

heal this broken land and what else. Everyone wants to lead. They crawl as far as their fart finds the hole. and everyone is blown away. away to the real meaning of paints and colors and beauty and faith.

The children they deserve to find joy in education, in reaching their ambition, in using plastics and cans and bottles and flies as experiments and sharing fairytales and humanoids, and praying to the one God who gives the bread of life.

Then one by one they will become teacher and pass everything to everyone. Only then we will become good neighbors.

Thanks sir dave for sharing it.

Watching the video is overwhelming. Part of me feels incredibly lucky and the other part of me is asking what can i do? am doing my part to make a difference to somebody else's life? Nakakaawa naman yong mga bata. I can only imagine what they're going through everyday.

"Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect. It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections......"
