VISION: Christian Responsibility

"Lead me to one soul Today, Oh teach me just what you say, Friends of mine are lost in sin,And cannot find the way, Few there are who seem to care, And few there who pray, Melt my heart and fill my life, Lead me to one soul today." One particular year I heard the evangelist giving identical testimonies of their Vission. The evangelist who tistified at the Singapore Stadium of how he became a full-time evangelist as the result of this vission. He saw himself standing on top of a mountain. At the mountain accros from him, he saw thousands and thousands of people being pushed over the cliff to the deep valley below. It was such a heartbreaking sight, watching people yelling helplessly and hopelessly as the were being pushed closer and falling over the cliff. As he watched this agonising sight, he desperately pleaded with God to stop those people from being pushed downwards. God spoke to him, "It is for you to stop them, Go and spread the Good News to the unbelievers." This vission caused him to become a full-time evangelist, proclaiming the good news around the world to save souls from condemnation. Many Christians today are privileged to be will grounded with strong biblical and spiritual teachings that build thier Faith. If they do not put into practice what they have learned, then all listening and learning of His Word will not be productive. It is like a man who consumes large amounts of good food, but whose metabolism is slowed down by lack of proper exercise. Statistics show that only 5% of Christians have won souls for the Lord. What happened to the rest of the 95%?. What will the say to the Lord when they meet Him empty handed and when asked to give an account of thier Life on Earth? As Christians, we are guilty of not sharing this Good News to our family members, colleagues or business associates? They deserve to hear the Good News. When Jesus saw the needs of the multitude, He was moved with compassion. He said to the diciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are Few" (Matthew 9:36/37). It is a christian's responsibility to share the Good News. To do that the must first experience the Lord and have a vital relationship with Him before he can be an effective witness for Him. I meet a clergyman who has been preaching for 20 years. He confessed to me that it was only after nine years of preaching that he experienced Christ in his life. You and I need to have a personal encounter with God Himself before we can share His love with others. Let us ask ourselves, "Do we still have loved ones, nieghbours, good friends and business associates who have yet to accept JESUS as thier Lord and Savior? "If your answer is " YES" perhaps you should meditate on John 3:18 to realise that it is our responsibility to share the Salvation message with them; giving them the opportunity to accept Jesus and recieve God's gift of Eternal Life. Ephesians 2:8/9 John 1:12 John 3:16 John 3:18 Revelation 21:4 "He will wipe every tear from thier eyes" To god be the Glory.......!!!!!!

Teachers of the Law

arnold's picture

We know that the law is good if one uses it properly.we also know that law is made not for the rightieous but for law breakers and rebels, the ungodly and irreligious. The spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow decieving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teaching come through hypocritical liars, whose concience have been seared as with a hot iron. Anyone who teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instructions of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, is conceited and understands nothing. Such people have an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicious and constant friction between people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gains, But godliness with contentment is great gain. Having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them..... For the time will come when people will put up with sound doctrine. Instead to suit thier own desires...... Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct , rebuke and encourage-- with great patience and careful instruction, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scriptures is God-breath and is usefull for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in rigtheousness, So that Gods servant may be thoroughly equipped for every good work..... To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact .both thier minds and concience are corrupted. They claim to know God, but by thier actions they deny him,They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.. all by the Scriptures base.

VISION: Christian Responsibility

This new topic is closely related to my own recent post entitled "Preaching to the Converted".

The Christian responsibility to evangelise is well known. I think the key passage from the Good Word can be found in Acts Ch 1 v 8:

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth".

What continues to puzzle me though, is why the Christian fraternity wastes resources in so much duplication of effort. Is the motive so truly altruistic?

Its a question that probably can never be satisfactorily answered. There are too many human interests involved for them to ever agree and get their Acts together (pun intended).
