1st CF Essay & Poster Making Contest

The Catandueanes Forum has concluded its 1st Essay and Poster Making Contest. The results are posted here under and I have to admit some tears escaped as I was posting the winners. I am very happy to note the audacious whisper of their small voice as they made their stand on preserving their small humble island. But maybe more than the sweet voice they raise is the revelation that most of the winners come from places close to my heart; places like Biong in Gigmoto, Catagbacan in San Andres, Tubli in Caramoran, Danicop in Virac, and Cabugao in Bato. Not that I do not ache for the center towns of the province, but that I just love the rustic life of the rural places of our beautiful province.

My congratulations to the winners!

I would like to give credit to my fellow teachers, parents and supporters of these students for having lend them a hand in moulding their minds. I believe that the support given them will help them throughout their lives. Let us not tire listening to them, being with these young, and giving them a chance to speak not only through words but through the different form of the arts.

This competition would not have been possible without two CF members who have labored so hard from inception to the finish line. Man-uukag and Taypongard, (I could not recall now whose Idea this is) have proposed, planned, raised resources, organized etc. for this dream to come true. May God Bless you two and your future endeavors. I would like also to mention Yellow Bells and other members for taking time to go back home to help and support the project. I cannot mention more names, but I'm sure the whole CF family are at the same time envy and proud of all of you who have gone home to help.

I would like to specially thank the Hon. Joseph Cua, our Governor and a good friend of mine, and the other Provincial Government Officials who have supported this project and given CF a day during the Catanduanes Festival to hold this competition. Thank you.

The many generous members who have contributed and shared their resources, have supported this project and seen it to finish line, thank you. Your gesture made it possible for our young to be heard not only in our province, but in the whole world through this site.

I'm proud of the Members of CF!

Dave, on behalf of STR and Cai.

Here is something I thought is worth sharing to congratulate at the same time people who were involved. I thought all the time MU did a job well done!

To SB, buy the bestest pen and don't you spill that coffee, reserve it when I arrive there, I can heat it up in the microwave! Thank you for signing on my behalf!

Dave
I have arranged to sign the certs on your behalf tomorrow (Wednesday), which I am very glad to do. I'll use my bestest pen and my bestest handwriting. I'll try not to spill any coffee over them, but have plenty of greasy rags standing by, just in case.

The contest was very well organised. A lot of effort went into making it a success and everyone involved is to be congratulated. Parents and teachers alike have both expressed to me the hope that the competition will be repeated in following years.
