We live in a generation where cycle of rejection is common place; where sectionalism is the order of the day and where the “matibay” is measured by words and never mind the practice!
We live in an age where the people elbow each other and the “maorag” is him who elbows more!
We woke up in an epoch where power is not used for humanity but to gain more “kakampi”, more “koneksyon”; all for the mighty me.
We thrive in a system where service and giving is in order only if “my name” is assured to be written on the wall, on the church pews, in a plaque and the worthless piece of paper popularly tagged certificate.
Then… we sleep in an age where when alone… we realize we have not done a bit for man, but for myself.
Then… we sleep in our comfortable bed and comfortable home with more questions than answers… to lull us to sleep…
The problem is that when we were born on this earth, without us choosing it, this system is glued tight in its place.
So man invented education with the noble intention of providing better place for man. To provide man with better options… for man to be free.
But man educate by words. He fails to see that values are caught, and not taught. He fails to see that children mimic acts before words. He fais to learn that actions are better teachers than words.
So we see our elders, our real teachers, telling us one thing… but do quite another thing. And the telling passed through man’s soul, and the soul cautht their deeds.
Then the cycle goes on…
And then… our generation picked it up… and pick up mightily we did!
We now say one thing and do another thing. We say we need good leaders… but sell our votes. We say we serve… but really mean “hey guys, because I gave more, I should be heard more, never mind what I do.”
And we go on teaching our young with beautiful words… and do what our words do not mean.
The fundamental shift is morality… when our action and words become one… when we use less words to teach… and we act more than we speak.
And when our action and words are one and when our action builds than break, when our actions give more that than receive… a fundamental change has taken place.
And when our young listens beautiful things less but sees beautiful deeds more… then real education is attained.
When we speak of love less, but act with love more… then our children learn love better.
When we speak of giving less, but do the giving more… our children learn generosity the most.
When we speak of unity the less, but do things to unite more… then our children learns friendship better.
Because even when we just smile and not speak, we are making ourselves known. And what is education but making known to our learning young what we know?
And what do we know in this generation but very little beautiful action and more beautiful words?
Let us help make the fundamental shift. Give love… not talk about love.
Then our children will live in a generation where cycle of love is common place; where unity and friendship is the order of the day and where the “matibay” is measured by practice and never mind the words!
Then we will be leaving behind an age where our children do not elbow each other and the “maorag” is him who elbows not!
Then we will die with our children waking up in an epoch where power is used for humanity and never to gain more “kakampi,” never more “koneksyon;” all for the mighty humanity.
Then we would have contributed in moulding a system where service and giving is in order even if “my name” is not on the wall, not on the church pews, not in a plaque and not in the worthless piece of paper popularly tagged certificate.
Then… we will sleep in a twighlight age where when alone… we realize we have done a bit for man.
Then… we sleep in our comfortable eternal bed and in an eternally comfortable home with more answers than questions… to lull us to sleep…
amen
amen...but the ironic thing is that the government cares very little for education. the government would rather pay ghost employees rather than hire good teachers for students, build costly convention centers than classrooms, and issue propaganda materials rather than subsidize the cost of textbooks. tsk, tsk, tsk.
