19 Reasons to Ignore Everybody - Follow your Dreams!

http://www.globotreks.com/features/19-reasons-ignore-everybody-follow-yo...

Now, in response to what naysayers, gatekeepers, or anyone might say to keep you from dreaming, I want to share 19 reasons why you should ignore everyone and follow your dreams:

The only “yes” you need to follow your dreams is yours.
You’ll regret it later in life, and if you’re delaying it, you’ll question yourself why didn’t you do it sooner.
Not following your dreams makes you feel unaccomplished. Eventually, this will stop you from dreaming altogether.

FOR REGISTRATION

We all know how ineffective the island's Highway Patrol service is at enforcing the nation's traffic laws (its been the subject of previous posts). Their inability to do so on our roads is there for all to see, as all sorts of transgressions abound.

Are we equal parts real, equal parts not? Are we 50% sweet and 50% pretending to be sweet?

Ni Kristian Cruz

Hoy Noynoy,

Kamusta na bro? What’s going on?

Eto, winter sa New York. Sobrang lamig, dude. As in, hindi siya sexy in a Sex & the City kind of way. Lamig in a running nose kind of way. As in, gross. For some reason though, kahit malamig, nagkaroon ako ng craving for Wendy’s Float. Pero dahil naka-diet ako to prepare to fit into my Speedo swimming trunks for summer, I ordered the Diet Coke kind. Medyo ironic siya, dahil ang soda ay Diet Coke pero may fattening ice cream mixed on top. Weird di ba? Pero, you have to give me credit, dahil may 50% attempt pa rin to diet. And besides, lunch time pa naman. I have all the time throughout the day to burn it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

I wish all Catandunganons a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year.

Please look after your pets tonight. They do not understand fireworks and can get very stressed. Make sure that they are kept out of the way and in a safe place.

Si Rizal at ang Pilosopiya ng Pagtitiis

eman's picture

ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES

Just recently several light bulbs (energy saving - naturally) in the house have had to be replaced. More seriously at about the same time both UPS units that protect my expensive appliances (TV, hifi, computer) from harmful current spikes, have failed.
Is this just bad luck or have other members on the island experienced similar occurrences?

SHOPPING & SERVICES

There are certain things that I cannot find on Catanduanes; or may be I am looking in the wrong places. This thread could be useful to share information on where to obtain goods and services.
For starters I should like to know where to buy the following:
Butter
Yogurt
Whole Wheat (brown) Bread

Wine:
I buy boxed wine at Arcilla's (north of Gogon Bridge). I find boxed wine quality more reliable than buying wine in bottles here. Does anyone know of other suppliers?

Is there anything you wish you could get on Catanduanes and is there a supplier you would like to share with the Forum?

FORUM FUTURE

Its over halfway through October, the TV news has begun the countdown to Christmas which heralds the end of the year and the promise of a new, better one to come.
Although a new signed up member of the Forum I have lurked as an interested observer for a long while. If I may I should like to offer some suggestions for the future of the Forum.

The municipality of Bato won the National Literacy Award.

Misplaced Outrage. Misplaced Shame.

With all these in mind, I cannot however help but take exception to how some Hongkong nationals could so easily use the same incident to malign the entire country and throw all sort of conceivable outrage against the Philippines and the entire Filipino people. Doubly shocking moreover is how some Filipino could so easily and uselessly swallow their national pride, as they admit to being ashamed of being a Filipino.

Cautious Optimism

Thus, romance life as you may see fit, and howsoever you want it, but be wise. Remember that there is no substitute for an optimism tempered with caution.

If it pleases the court...(Why the Supreme Court does not need a Spokesperson)

If it pleases the Supreme Court, let the Spokesperson deliver the message as it is, pure and free from improvisation. This is the only way that the Court's decision or ruling would be free from any unnecessary interpretation. And this is the only way that the spokesperson's personal feelings and emotions will not be imputed as the court's own pontification.

Indeed the court may only speak through its decision. Beyond what is written, is only an appellant's aspiration.

The (im)perfect Truth Commission

Truth, like milk, arrives in the dark
But even so, wise dogs don't bark.
Only mongrels make it hard
For the milkman to come up the yard.
~Christopher Morley, Dogs Don't Bark at the Milkman

"If it is the truth that we all seek, then by all means let the seekers of the truth do their job. Anyways as the old adage goes, if we have nothing to hide we have nothing to fear.

Let us not make it hard for the milkman to come up the yard; that is if it is the milk that we want alright?"

To Marry or Not to Marry?- My two cents on PNoy's possible presidential wedding

Of course the responsibilities of the Office of the President should never be a stumbling block to consummate a legitimate love affair. Nor a legitimate Presidential love affair could be deemed a threat to national security or a public nuisance subject to summary abatement. While PNoy might be the youngest person to occupy the Philippine presidency, his age is obviously not the best number to delay what needs to be done. If indeed it is love that binds them together, then there is no reason to make the Presidency as an excuse to delay its consummation.

The End...almost

Imagine our daily lives without the annoying jingles competing in the airwaves with tunes mimicking songs that once upon a time appealed to our souls. Imagine our lives sans the tragedy and the drama that consumed our thoughts for the past few months, and the expose's that put to shame the greatest stories ever told.
