A promising surfing site in the town of Baras. It is the home of the well-known “Majestic” waves with its awesome long-barrel-type surf. Offshore waves are in their utmost shape during the months of August to September. The surfing area also shows a marvelous view of mountains and bays. Photo fanatics could get great view of the sunrise in this area.

Nature of Pasakat

Pasakat Mountaineers - Manila, is a non-profit, non-political, environmental organization. It advocates on environmental cause dedicated towards maintaining and protecting bio-ecological balance.

Objectives

Pasakat Mountaineers - Manila trains people to become skilled, responsible mountaineers with a deep sense of respect for nature.

Principles

Grab a copy of the first issue of An Tambobong, a collection of 53 published and unpublished Bikol poems written by 36 contemporary writers from different towns and cities in the region. The book entitled "Ani nin mga Rawitdawit" includes poems on farming, the primary source of living of Bicolanos, and anything that is related to it. The works of Catanduanes's Allan Popa ("Pagtahop") and Gerry Rubio ("Tercio" and a Viracnon translation of Manuel Santos Paner's "Abakatanduanes") are included in this issue.

Number of households increased by 5,073
The population of Catanduanes was 232,757 persons as of August 1, 2007, based on the 2007 Census of Population. This figure was higher by 17,401 persons over the population count of 215,356 persons in 2000. The population counts for the province for the 2000 and 2007 censuses translated to an average annual population growth rate of 1.08 percent.

I monitored the number of Brownouts over the month of January. I recorded the instances in the comments of another Post. I have tried to be accurate and fair in my monitoring. There may have been brownouts occurring in the small hours whilst asleep that I missed. I confess that I failed to record the exact end times of two brownouts. However the results are conservative and I believe represent a fair record of the truth.
All records are my own made in Virac. I received no reports of other brownouts on the island.
