Catanduanes Postcards

Cai has a bright idea! I'd like to share it with you.

Have you noticed that there is no postcard showing the beauty of Catanduanes? It's a pity because we have lots to show and lots of opportunities that will be unlocked only if we show the beauty of our island.

Your contributed pictures will help catanduanes if you will permit us to turn them into postcards. The proposal is to select some pictures from our site, get it printed as postcards with short description of it, the name of the place and CATANDUANES written in bold letters plus of course the name of the contributor with CF.

One plan is to sell it to some tourist shops in Catanduanes, in the airport and perhaps in some of the hotels here in Manila.

One issue is, what shall we do in case some revenue is realized? My proposal is make it a fund for future printing of other postcards out of our pictures.

What is its impact? Oh a lot. It will benefit the eco-tourism plan of Catanduanes which will surely generate livelihood for our people. See? we can help our people in little ways we do here.

we can also use part of the funds to be generated from the sale of the postcards to printing leaflets...so nanganak na yung project...instead of just having one outlet, we have two, and so on and so forth...

what say you?

Hahahha sir Dave & cai thats brilliant idea. I'm on with the plan but not my pics no one will buy it , as long you delete our faces. Ikaw talaga dave nagbibiro na naman. OK rin at in the long run magiging popular ako at baka every kanto flashes here, flashes everywhere and autograph. Ang labas niyan maging sikat ako. Yes, ikaw ang magiging manager ko hahaha , what do you think about that ???? ngeek!!! lungare 123 is my personal bodyguard. lovely idea!!! will go for it sir dave, your hired already as a manager...

The idea is to select from among all the pictures here. However, we are still on the process of asking permission from the owners of those pictures to permit CF to use their materials. Once they do, we may start with say 1000 or 2000 copies. The proceeds will be used in making more postcards and then brochures/pamphlets. The combined sales from this two products may be used to print more postcards, more brochures and tourism maps.

The need to push Cai's postcard idea was corroborated by Mel's and Milm's experience of looking for postcards, with them going even to the tourism office at the provincial capitol and getting none.

Also we thought it is a pity that while we have beautiful places and beautiful subjects worthy of showing the world through postcards, we have none. How do we encourage tourists to visit places they know nothing about?

Mel thinks this is something small she wants to do for Catanduanes. I think the same.

At the moment, i pledge to finance it, Mel and Milms pledged too. Others will be welcome to do the same. Once we have done the meeting for this postcard (STR, CAI, Alvis and I) we will let those who pledged to finance the project on the procedures.

Don't worry Bim. All our faces are worth God's effort of bringing all of us together. The world has the right to see them.
