NO TO MONTE ORO COAL MINING!

Mining Hazards:
-BLACK DAMP(mixture of CO2 and N2 which causes suffocation)
-FIRE DAMP(mostly methane,a flammable gas)
-STINK DAMP(sulfuric and can explode)
-WHITE DAMP(contains carbon monoxide)

SIETE PALABRAS

I always look forward to spending Holy Week in Viga, Catanduanes. For the last 20 years or more, my family travels to our scenic island province for spiritual renewal and strengthening of faith.

Good Friday is the most solemn day when our Lord Jesus Christ cried out the SIETE PALABRAS before giving up His life for the salvation of mankind. It was during the SIETE PALABRAS when we do soul searching for enlightenment about the meaning of His divine sacrifice. I always look forward listening to sermons extolling the relevance of the SIETE PALABRAS to our Christian faith.

This Holy Week Siete Palabras were far from extolling their relevance to our Christian faith. The solemn moment was used instead as launching pad to demonize mining under the guise of preventing global warming and climate change. The sermons equate mining with blast fishing, cyanide fishing, illegal logging (ever wonder what is the difference between legal and illegal logging when both requires cutting trees?), and portrays a fearful scenario of apocalyptic destruction brought about by mining.

On the other hand, the sermons discussed about human being given the authority to oversee, manage and use responsibly God given natural resources to ensure man’s continuous existence and survival. Natural resources include minerals, fuel, thermal, and many more, which can be utilized through extraction method – MINING.

The diocese committed a serious mistake by demonizing mining and calling for mining ban. This advocacy is tantamount to depriving man of basic needs. What is the point in advocating conservation for the future if it means depriving man of his present basic survival needs?

Brothers and sisters, if you are true to your advocacy of demonizing mining and total mining ban, please STOP supporting the demon! Don’t use anything that has to do with the demon mining! Tear down the churches because they used cement out of limestone, steel bars, gold & silver ornaments out of ore (a ton of ore must produce 10 grams of gold to be viable). Shut down power connection, discard motorbikes and motor driven vehicles because they use coal and fossil fuel. Give away your cell phone to the non believers because demon mining supplied the plastic, steel cover, copper wirings and many more parts of it.

Anything short of the above is plain and simple hypocrisy.

FORGIVE THEM EVEN IF THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
