"Remember Me Not, My Dearest"
By: JaeeTee
Remember me not when I am away,
As Sampaguita’s scent fades day after day,
Let forgetfulness take me to fond memories,
Bury my unworthy love on the bosom of halcyon seas.
Remember me not when I bid goodbye,
Weep not on my grave my Dearest, please don’t cry,
You will hear my voice no more as time goes-by,
Put no sign of remorse on the haven where I lie.
Remember me not when my judgment comes,
Make a perfect sanctuary for the setting sun,
Let my repose lay on the evening calm;.
Caressed by the morning dew as my spirit’s gone.
Remember me not when the world
has no songs to sing,
As dust on the array is abruptly swept
by the falling rain;
Feel the magic thoughts that these
rhymes could ever bring;
Remember me not my Dearest,
remember me not for my memory
is not worth remembering.
YOURS
A poem written on Christmas Eve 1943. The author had just lost his girlfriend Ruth, in a plane crash in Canada.
YOURS
The life that I have
Is all that I have
And the life that I have
Is yours
The love that I have
Of the life that I have
Is yours and yours and yours
A sleep I shall have
A rest I shall have
Yet death will be but a pause
For the peace of my years
In the long green grass
Will be yours and yours
And yours
