1. Nacionalista’s Motorcade, the Very First to Reach Bato Area
Folks say Nacionalista Party’s Motorcade last week marks the very first to reach Bato Area. The event took place one Saturday afternoon, on May 27 last week as NP organizes Proclamation rally by evening that day. Virac poblacion experienced a little traffic as motorbikes, tricycles, rented jeepneys, cars and vans occupied half the street from Lower Santo Domingo Area to down town. It moved toward Virac Public Market, turned left passing the Municipal Hall where it took Sta. Cruz road exiting along Marems Pension House going to the Provincial Capitol Building and went straight to Bato Poblacion.
The motorcade started past two (2) in the afternoon as scheduled. The array of vehicles was made lengthy by participating groups from all over the province. The teams, each represented by their individual and identical colors of shirt include the candidates and supporters of Cely Wong, Joseph Cua, Vince Villaluna, Mayors and officials from each municipality, Bayan Muna, Kabataan and other party lists, San Miguel’s Mayor Edna Bernal, Virac’s Bani Balmadrid and Kalem Surtida and some others under the same party.
Later that day, the teams gathered for the Proclamation Rally at Rizal Plaza at seven (7) in the evening. Fireworks display and a live band show follows right after.
2. Case against Cebu Pacific Remains Pending
Complaints raised by affected parties remain pending. It was heard last week during Jorge De Leon’s slot over Radio Natin FM that Maria Luisa Teves, the complainant reports about humiliating statements received her Australian relative from officers of Cebu Pacific at VRC airport. The incident happened Friday, March 5 when the passengers were leaving VRC to catch a connecting flight from MNL to Australia in the afternoon that day.
It was also noted last week, as published in local newspapers and the internet that not only Teves complains against the airline but some others, PBM Shirley Abundo to name one, who were allegedly mistreated by these customer service representatives.
The foreigner claims she’s humiliated in the middle of all other passengers at the airport as they were passed over an officer to another until nobody entertains their queries regarding an unwrapped sungkaan which, according to the airline, is not allowed. The foreigner said they could have understood and wrapped the stuff had not they been ignored for almost an hour.
Cebu Pacific’s OIC, in the Managers behalf, has sworn to do necessary procedure but no action is done up till now.
