GASOLINE SUPPLY

There were two gasoline suppliers on the island: Caltex and Petron. A few weeks ago I noticed that they were operating a cartel. In other words they were cooperating on price-fixing. Thus denying the consumer the benefit of choice in a free market economy which usually results in lower prices. This is illegal in many parts of the world - I don't know about here.
Now I see that Caltex has disappeared altogether and Petron is now operating a monopoly. I have yet to verify, but I suspect that all the gas stations will as before, operate price-fixing. If so the consumer will still be denied a choice.

Gasoline!

I feared for this for a long time. remember the long battle of Tariman to open this? Remember too, who operates the gasoline depot! Whoever will open gasoline stations will always be beholden to whoever operates the depot in Palnab; Carlito is one of them. Now what happens when Depot operator owns gasoline stations too?

Without saying there is anomaly going on, the business set-up is skewed to one side.

He he he bossing yun na nga po eh.

Kun ayaw mo ikaw payag amin gusto, wala deliber gasolina iyo tangke he he he. bo lan chiao buhay ito sabi po Mang Carlito.

GASOLINE SUPPLY

I don't know who owns the various gas stations on the island. I do know that in the past there has been no competition but rather cooperation on pricing to the detriment of the consumer who has been denied a choice. I fear that the consumer will still be denied a choice. The gasoline pump prices should be closely monitored.
