Defending Villar....

Gilbert Remulla, Peter Alan Cayetano, Adel Tamano...

These three are the most vocal defenders of Villar, and are in fact, spokespersons for the man.

In trying to discredit the capability of Noynoy Aquino, they parrot, almost always, that Noynoy is nothing but for his surname. That without Aquino in his name, Noynoy is just another tom dick or harry who is incapable of becoming President of this country.

But who is Gilbert, Peter Alan and Adel in the national political radar without their surnames in the first place? Whether they admit it or not, they have capitalized on their forebears' surnames one way or the other. Is there something wrong with that? I bet there is none.

It is a political reality.

We have to admit that if you are running for an elective post in this country, aside of course from money, either you have to be 'known' in your own right, or somebody whom you have relations with, either by affinity or blood, must be 'known'. Otherwise, generally your political career would be thrown to obscurity without even starting it yet.

Remulla, Cayetano, Tamano... all these surnames belong to political families.

Gilbert, Peter Alan, Adel...these names are all generics and every nook and cranny of the Philippine Archipelago have these names.

Why the double standards then?

Sabi nin kawari sa takuri: "kainitom man nin lobot mo". Maski aram man ngani nin kawari na pareho man sinda nin du-sog na botong.
