Theprovince’s most awaited Yuletide entertainment festival, Christmas Cheers, willbegin on Dec. 16, the organizing committee announced last week as it finalizedpreparations for the 13-day activity.
DPWHCatanduanes district engineer Ignacio Odiaman, who chairs the committee, saidthat the schedule of performing groups or daily sponsors will be as follows:Dec. 16 (Friday) – CSC HAblon Dawani/Dr. Guillermo A. Reyes Adventist School;Dec. 17 (Saturday) – CSC Elementary/High School; Dec. 18 (Sunday) – Virac PilotElementary School; Dec. 19 (Monday) – JMAMES/Taytay Elementary School; Dec. 20(Tuesday) – Buyo, Calatagan and Palta; Dec. 21 (Wednesday) – Virac Central,Antipolo, Igang; Dec. 22 (Thursday) – CNHS; Dec. 23 (Friday) – CatanduanesColleges/Ville St. John; Dec. 26 (Monday) – Music Avenue band; Dec. 27(Tuesday) – Star Kids; Dec. 28 (Wednesday) – Little Ms. Christmas Cheers 2011;Dec. 29 (Thursday) – 2nd Christmas Serenade ChoralCompetition/Congressional Office; and, Dec. 30 (Friday) – ProvincialGovernment.
Bishop Manolo delos Santos will grace the opening program, along with GovernorJoseph Cua, Congressman Cesar Sarmiento, and Mayor Cito Alberto. The majorsponsors of the Cheers are Immaculate Conception Cathedral Parish,Congressional Office, Provincial Government of Catanduanes, MunicipalGovernment of Virac, DPWH Catanduanes Engineering District, MarriageEncounterers, Catanduanes Tribune, Catanduanes Contractors Association,Mountain Care & Hikers Association, Abuad Enterprises, FICELCO, CatanduanesTulungan Club, and Rotaract Club.
