The 21 April edition of the Catanduanes Tribune carried a report on the election status of the above locations. Read it at this link:

Since the report appeared a bodyguard of Governor Joseph Cua has been imprisoned for shooting a Gigmoto man on his own property. The man's condition is reported to be 50/50.

And apparently there is more to this story. According to Ilaya, the suspect was caught on board Mayor Tayam's service vehicle speeding out of Gigmoto. The police should investigate this matter also. Aiding or assisting a suspect after a crime has been committed is also a crime in itself.

The man reportedly shot in Gigmoto by a bodyguard of Governor Cua is Hadji Tolledo. He is son of Marilyn Tatel and nephew of Dr Edna Tolledo.

The man shot in Gigmoto Hadji Tolledo is the nephew of Edwin Tolledo one of the candidates for councilor of Lakas CMD and an opposition to Cua's Nationalista Party. Sketchy report from folks and police is that after the shooting the town mayor Edgar Tayam under Cua's party tried and attempted to spring out the shooter as the culprit was caught by police who set-up checkpoints aboard the Gigmoto town mayor service car speeding off and exiting Gigmoto. Thanks for the speedy actions of police checkpoint the attempted escape was foiled. Hadji was trying to pacify a man airing his opposition to Cua when Hadji was shot. Hadji is performing his duty as member of a barangay peace detail.

My roots are from Gigmoto. My brothers and I have spent numerous wonderful summers there. My younger brothers knows Hadji. In Gigmoto, everybody knows practically everybody, being too small a town. Early this (or late last) year Hadji lost his father, a former public official and who was also in the Tribune news). My Brod says Hadji is a nice guy and we're all saddened by this. I hope he recovers the soonest and win in the election. It's really unfortunate this things happens.

Our sympathies to them... and to the languid, rustic, beautiful, and amazing Gigmoto.

Gigmoto has been a haven - a paradise, then...
I still hope it still is, if not for all, for the kids at least.

So saddened by this Report, come election these things happens....but nevertheless i asure u how beautiful gigmoto is. Nahulugan is so amazing, pulo is great and d white beach in sioron. 'Proud to be a gigmoteños'.
