Nice post Manoy Alvis!

Oh its so hard to harvest rice! Mahirap mag-asyab.....the whole day nakayuko. Then... magullon......inay, kullog sa bitis! then ipa-trisyo pa yata so kabatullan kun nakiani ka sana. Tapos iballad....then hihimaridan para mahare ang ata....
Then pagdugang.......ibayo!
Silam sana nin bag-ong ani! Maski daing isisila.....payt na!
Sabi kan satong mga kagurangan......nakapapantay daa nin lubot pag ang bagas na bag-ong bayo. Inda daw kun nganta. Anyone knows the answer?.........hehehehe

Dear Milms:

I offer this verse to appreciate a setting, which may be likened to one of Armando Amorsolo's paintings about life in the countryside. The image reminds of home. Even in this modern times, the traditions and ways of doing things in our beloved province can only render those of us dreaming of returning and enjoying what our forebears left us. And here goes the verse.

To a Fine Harvest

Happy are those who tend the fields;
To see stalks of grain come to fruition,
To savor the morning due and the mayas' coming,
The winged creatures will glean what was left for them.

To plow the barren earth and dampen the soil,
To weed the unwanted grass rooted underneath,
The tiller of the soil and his beast of burden...
They will toil in the first light of day.

By the break of down, the field is ready;
To lay down the seeds of life and promise,
What lays across the road is another thought,
It is the challenge for those whose quest is done.

We drink and celebrate to a fine harvest.
Of melancholic nights and lovely songs...
For those senoritas daintly dressed in grace,
Of those years poignantly cherished, they will remember

A fine harvest is...a celebration of life.

Wonderful verse!

Hi junsoriao!
Thanks for a wonderful verse!
Though I made a comment like that, it doesn't mean that I don't appreciate it. Nag-share lang po ako ng joke from our oldies. If I offended you, sorry.....!
You know, it really reminds my childhood. I had experienced planting & harvesting rice too, that's why I know how hard it is. I still remember pa nga that time na kung dai madugang ang binallad na paroy, dai maka-bayo, kung dai kami maka-bayo we don't have something to cook for our dinner. Those experiences had flashback to me as I saw this setting......................
Ah tama na nga muna.......naiiyak na me! Na-ho-homesick tuloy ako!waaaah!
